FAQs

Australia Visa Questions Answered

Got a specific question about the Australian visa process? We're here to help.

Ask on WhatsApp
Do UK citizens need a visa to visit Australia?
Yes. UK citizens require an Electronic Travel Authority (ETA, subclass 601) or a Visitor Visa (subclass 600) to enter Australia. The ETA is a digital visa linked to your passport and can be applied for online. Most UK passport holders are eligible for the ETA. We confirm your specific eligibility and advise on the correct visa type.
How long does an Australian visitor visa take?
ETA applications are often processed within 24–72 hours. Standard visitor visa (subclass 600) processing from the UK typically takes 20–40 days. Factors such as health requirements or additional document requests can extend processing. We ensure your application is complete to minimise delays.
Can I work in Australia on a visitor visa?
No. You cannot work in Australia on a visitor visa or ETA. If you wish to work, you need an appropriate work visa such as the Temporary Skill Shortage visa (subclass 482) or a Working Holiday visa (subclass 417 or 462). We assess your situation and recommend the correct visa pathway.
What is the Australia Points Test and how does it work?
The points test is used for skilled migration visas (such as subclass 189 and 190). You are awarded points based on your age, English language ability, qualifications, work experience, and other factors. You need a minimum of 65 points to submit an Expression of Interest. We calculate your points and identify ways to improve your score.
Can I bring my family to Australia on a work visa?
In most cases, yes. Your partner and dependent children can be included in your visa application as secondary applicants. They receive the same conditions as you, including work and study rights in many cases. We advise on your specific visa subclass and the documentation required for family members.
My Australian visa was refused. What can I do?
A refusal does not necessarily end your chances. We review your decision record, identify the specific grounds for refusal, and assess your options — which may include a review before the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) or a fresh application addressing the identified weaknesses.
